Mandisa “Out of the Dark” album release + Win a copy of your own on CD!
My favorite thing about Mandisa’s “Out of the Dark” CD, that is something that is hard to define. I love almost every single song on this album. There is maybe 1 out of all of the songs on this album. I’m not really one for slow songs. So, there is your reason why. Those that like slow songs, may actually like the whole entire album. To make a long story short of why I don’t like slow songs, they depress me. I’ve had more than enough depression in my own life.
She created and released this due to a bit of depression that she went through. It’s something that she relates to those that have had it. She wanted to share with you about her own story and journey of going through it.
I honestly can’t explain how close to home that the CD had actually hit me. I’ve suffered with it since the age of 16 when I had lost my best friend in an accident. It was a time in my own life that was difficult for me to get through.
Depression is something that needs to be educated to everyone. Sometimes a person can look normal on the outside. However on the inside, they are constantly hurting and suffering. It can be brought on by losing someone, bullying, losing a job, financial situations and there are a lot of other things that can cause it. If left untreated, that does lead to several other things that are unseen to the human eye. Bipolar is one, which I have ended up with. Mine went untreated for over 16 years. It developed and I was diagnosed about 3 years ago. I’m now 38.
She goes on to explain to you in her songs about prejudice things, coming back out of the dark from the depression and a lot of other things. I can say that the two songs that stand out the most for that is “Out of the Dark” and “Bleed the Same”. Those are the ones that talk about prejudice and the other is the one that she sings regarding coming out of her depression.
The music itself is very upbeat and energetic. I love the beat that it has. This album is something that I’ve greatly enjoyed. I’m sure you will to. I’ve put this on my computer and keep the physical copy in my vehicle. Yes, I do enjoy it that much.
If you’re interested in purchasing the album, you can as it was just released on the 19th of May, 2017.
NOTE: This is a Christian CD. If you are NOT religious, you may not like it. If you are like my children, you don’t care if it is as long as you like the rhythm to it.
