How We Can Keep Ourselves Looked After Through Lockdown

COVID-19 and lockdown have hit us all hard. There has been a lot of sudden changes that none of us expected, and we’ve had to deal with these changes without question. We are all doing a fantastic job of supporting frontline workers, family, friends, and vulnerable people, but we can’t forget about ourselves too. It’s essential that we are looking after ourselves, especially through lockdown, our health is important and it’s something that is going to help us fight this crisis.

So, how can we keep ourselves looked after during lockdown? Let’s have a look below: 

Keep On Top Of Your Diet 

Eating a well-balanced healthy diet can be easier said than, especially when healthier food supplies seem to be more difficult to source at the moment, however, it’s important for us to keep a watchful eye on our diet. Naturally, we are moving less now that we are in lockdown so it might be easier for us to gain weight from overindulging from boredom. 

Keep Hydrated

It’s recommended that we, as adults drinks around eight glasses of water per day in order to maintain our health and replenish what we consume. It’s good to try using a water bottle to monitor the amount that we are consuming. 

Exercise 

Although our time outside has been dramatically restricted, it doesn’t mean that we can’t get the daily exercise that we need and our bodies crave. We should all aiming to at least get the recommended thirty minutes, five times a week worth of exercise into our routines. There has been a lot of people posting motivational, ideas for home workouts online too. 

Mental Health 

We need to be looking after our mental health now more than ever, and we also need to be mindful of anyone we are aware of that had struggled before this pandemic. For anyone with or without pre-existing mental health concerns, it is vital that we put some steps into place to help monitor our mental health, and try to remain positive throughout the lockdown. It’s going to difficult, and likely get worst before it gets better, but, it will get better. 

Keep Informed 

If there is anything like feeling in control, it’s being well informed. There is plenty of sources online for us to utilize and use for research. In situations like this, we need to make sure we are well informed and have researched things as much as possible, it will make us feel more in control and comfortable with the situation. 

Know Your Rights 

Just like with everything in life it’s good for us to know our rights. Whether it’s your insurances, following the government guidelines, support on offer,  a coronavirus lawyer or other rights, it’s good for us to our research and ensure that we fully understand any of our legal rights through this time.
