Health Update ~ Flu shot reactions + other issues

Health update on why we are not as active now

Right now, I want to take the time to update on why Bit O’ Everything is not as active as we had been.  This is mainly a health update.

Since getting a flu shot in January, my health has decreased a whole lot, mentally and a few other ways.  This is going to be a short post.  (Was suppose to have been.)  I had gotten a flu shot, and since I didn’t and still don’t know much about the vaccine itself, I didn’t realize that they often (almost every year) change the vaccine and what is in it or what it actually covers.

I’ve had a conversation with my doctor, my family members, friends and a lot of others that have and know what types of things to look for.  What I didn’t know is that I was having the worst side effects that a person could have when getting any type of vaccine.

health update

In January, close to the end of the month, I got a flu shot.  I waited until after the holidays as I always get sick when I get one, (excuse me) got one.  What I didn’t know is that it was going to be a different kind of sick and with different effects.

A few hours later, I started having issues with keeping my head up, couldn’t breathe and was having chest pains and I had a hard time staying awake.  It wasn’t the first time I’d had those issues, so I figured “Why not wait it out?”  Those symptoms would go away, as my symptoms always did and I just needed sleep.

I regret that decision now.  My final after effects consist of not being able to think, my spelling is way off, punctuation is messed up horribly, my limbs (arms and legs) are almost uncontrollable.  (I’m so thrilled for the right click, spell checking method right now.)  My hands, arms, legs, hips and other limbs twitch and / or jerk.  My balance is way off and I stagger around looking like some stoner that has had way to much alcohol to drink.  (Right now, I’m hoping that my spell check will work!  In other words, I choose the right spelling.)  My vision is messed up worse than it has ever been.

I went for a MRI the other day.  “Lay still” they said.  My body had other ideas and it’s own thoughts.  Even when trying to keep my body from moving and from twitching or jerking, it done it.  It’s not like I can help it.  I tried.  It didn’t work.  I can barely get my hands to cooperate with typing.  I’m having to retrain my hands and coordination to where I can type again and without having to keep backspacing the things that I’ve already typed.  So far, no luck.

My speech is slurred.  That means I have to slow down my words and try to think of what I am saying to where others can hear what I am trying to say.  My concentration level has gone out the door.  My 13-year-old daughter is basically taking care of our two male minions and myself while the hubby is at work.  That’s a whole lot for a child of her age.  I feel bad and want to cry that she’s having to be so grown up at her age.  She’s been helping me help her brother that is autistic with his homework.  I’ve been looking for freebies that will help with his homework since he’s ADHD and Autistic and my health like it is.

I’m not even sure if this will make since to any of you.  I can say that right now, pre-written sponsored posts will be all that I am going to be able to do for you to have quality written material.  My writing will not be fit for you as of right now.  My main concern is all of you; my fans, readers, followers, friends and family.  You and my immediate family.

My husband, children and doctor have all decided that I will NEVER get another Flu shot.  I agree with them.  My doctor told me, after I informed him of the symptoms that I had during that time, it was an allergic reaction and it could have killed me.  Keep in mind, I’ve had a flu shot every year for years, until this one.  I don’t know what was in it, what changed or how they changed it, but after that, I WILL NEVER GET ANOTHER FLU SHOT!

I go back to the doctor on the 10th of this month.  I was told by someone that knows more than I do, to be sure to have the doctor to redo the request for a MRI on the brain so that they can see if there is anything that was missed.  The other MRI was for the spinal cord.  It would be an idea, since I couldn’t get the other one done in time, to have it reinstated to where they can get that one done and see if there is anything that can be done or that might help to control the jerks, twitches and nerves in my limbs.

If you get a flu shot, be very careful with it!

Wow, how very scary and I believe you because I too am very afraid of what goes into my body for preventative measures. I stopped taking the flu shot many years ago – despite the pounding we get every time we walk into a pharmacy…I actually lie and tell them my doctor gave it to me….then I tell the doctor I got it in the pharmacy. I also am very careful of the meds I take. I have had bad reactions from them also. I hope this comment finds you feeling better. We have to be out own advocate when it comes to our health…
